For a while now, I’ve been thinking about how to make my cricket writing more distinct within SpeakingNick. After all, cricket makes up the majority of the content here, with deviations into golf, some baseball and NFL, and random thoughts in the ‘Off the Cuff’ section. However, cricket writing remains the staple. And that’s how I want it to stay; clear and present, with little, or no distractions.
So, today, I'm excited to share a subtle but significant evolution:
hello, Speaking Cricket.
Consider this a natural progression rather than a rebrand. Everything stays the same—insightful cricket analysis, sharp commentary, unique anecdotes, and the occasional nip of dry humour.
So, SpeakingNick will be gracefully retired and SpeakingCricket will take its place as the new publication name.
I also plan to change the domain from njspeak.substck.com to speaking.cricket —this transition will happen over the weekend, so please bookmark the new address once its live. The rest of the changes are:
The section ‘Across Cricket’ will go. All cricket posts will be in the root section, SpeakingCricket.
‘Green Reads’ (golf ) will fall off the nav bar and be re-purposed into the ‘Off the Cuff’ section
And most important. Posts will land in your inbox as they always have, the only change will be in the ‘from’ field—changing from Nick Speak @ SpeakingNick to: Nick @ SpeakingCricket
That’s all for now! I’d love to hear your feedback—positive or constructive—so please feel free to reply or leave a comment. Have a great weekend.
I hope you enjoy the changes and the upcoming content.
Nick
Hello Nick. As you are well aware my techno skill is limited and therefore I will wait to see how my connection with Speakingcricket lands in my world.
Best wishes to you both as always
